Culturevation Art show had its grand opening on November 9, 2013. The artwork will remain on display until January of 2014. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that attended the art show despite the rain that was pouring that evening. We truly appreciate the friendship and support that you all have for our family here at Soul Signature Tattoo. While planning for the art show, we decided to dedicate it to our forefathers and mothers that help build Hawaii many years ago. We decided to visit Waipahu Plantation Village and Bishop Museum to educate ourselves on the different immigration groups that traveled across the Pacific Ocean to find a better life and future for their families. It was very humbling and at the same time heartbreaking to even imagine the life the immigrant families who lived in the Plantation Villages. Many of these people worked overtime and got very little pay but in today’s society, the life we live has changed so drastically that we tend to forget about these individuals that came and helped build Hawaii to what we see today. This art show was dedicated to them, to those people who came from a foreign world seeking a better life, we took this opportunity to remember our past and history. Our forefather cultivated the lands by planting seeds and when it was ready to harvest, they would replant what they took from the land so they would have crops throughout the years. They preserved the lands by holding on to what they believe in and shared with others their harvest or knowledge. Through cultivation, people continued sharing their knowledge they have but enhanced it throughout the years but innovating as time brings change. All of the knowledge and philosophies were passed down from generation to generation as a way to preserve them for our future generation. They lived the life of "Come Full Circle" by sharing the fruits of own hard work and labor with their neighbors. To preserve one's culture is to remind culture vultures of how hard it takes to reach to a rewarding destination. Many of our ancestors worked hard just to move their families here. For this, we thank them for paving the way for our generation today and tomorrow. May their legacies live on! Culturevation simply came from three words, “culture, innovation and preservation.” Through different mediums of arts, we wanted to share to the world what makes our home, Hawaii such a blessed and unique place. The Culturevation Art show logo has two items, a machete and the sacred traditional tapping tools. These two ancient instruments have lived for thousands of years ago and both have a similarity which they both use the striking method. A machete is used to cultivate and the traditional tapping tool is one of oldest tool that is used to mark symbols that have been passed down through many generations from our ancestors. Machetes and traditional tapping tools are old tools but they have lived through many years of innovation they are still a symbol of how we preserve cultures and traditions. As we pay tribute to our past we would also like to acknowledge the people in the present, so we thank everyone that has believed in us and continues to show their support for us throughout these years of building inspiration. You are welcome to stop by the shop and look at the artwork that was done for the Culturevation Art show. Come join us to experience the legacy of how cultivation, innovation and preservation as lived for many years allowing us to “REMEMBER THE OLD HAWAII!” We are selling Culturevation T-shirts, Artworks both original or prints. Stop by and purchase yours.

It was only 10:00 a.m and we had a long line of walk-in customers ages 1 to 16 years of age. :) Children have an amazing imagination and its always fun to watch them challenge their artists. "Uncle, I want power rangers flying off a cliff or Uncle, I want hello kitty dancing...eheheheh!!!" We love children and we thank the coordinators of this carnival for inviting us to come out and draw on these children.
Over thousands of people strolled through Waikiki to watch live Polynesian dancing, listening to live music and many stopped by the Academy of Arts booth to buy custom painted fans done by many artists that came out to volunteer their time. Suluape Aisea and Bong from Tattoos by Bong came out to donate their time by supporting our friends and families from the Honolulu Academy of Arts Museum. That night was flocked with great people, positive energy, good vibes, inspiring art life and many more.... Thanks again to Vince Hazen from the Honolulu Academy of Arts for the invitation.
