Suluape Aisea along with Rodney Powell of Big Island, travelled to Apia Samoa to attend the birthday of a great and generous man, their teacher Mr. Sua Suluape Petelo. They arrived the morning of his birthday celebration and both Suluape Aisea and Rodney mentioned of how it was a great blessing to be a part of a memorable event. Sua Suluape Petelo has been the greatest mentor for both Suluape Aisea And Rodney, helping them with the Revival of the Tongan Ta'Vaka. A beautiful event that gathered many families and friends together, also practicing the richness of its culture and traditions. It was amazingly beautiful and such a memorable trip. The people in Samoa live simple and appreciate every thing you give or do for them no matter how big or small it may be. The people welcomed us with open arms and shared unconditional love like we were one of their children. We would like to thank our Suluape Family for everything you all have done. Words cannot express how deeply blessed and grateful we are for making our visit one a memorable one. Ofa atu :)

Everyday is always a journey with Suluape Aisea and one of my favorites is when we disappear to the country side to meet elders such as master carver Tuione Pulotu and master sculptor Viliami Toluta'u. Suluape Aisea tries to find time atleast once or twice a month to visit Tuione, whom he refers to as a great mentor and a great impact in his life. He believes that authentic designs carved on different types of wood are similar to what is used in tattooing. "These are my elders and it is only right to come seek guidance and knowledge from them because this is one of the only ways our culture and teachings can live on." After many years of hoping to one day meet another person whom he is greatly inspired by, Suluape Aisea finally had the privilege to meet Professor Viliami Toluta'u who happened to stop by that evening to visit Tuione. Everyday is always a journey, a journey to meet people who may leave a great impact in your life.

"The inspiration for this tattoo design came from an artifact known as the Manunggul Jar. The artifact was discovered in a burial site Manunggul Cave in Lipuun Point, Quezon, Palawan. It was chosen as the inspiration for the design because the figures represent guides taking the deceased to the next life, in essence guiding the souls of those who died. The artist's interpretation of the design is in the style of petroglyphs. This style was chosen as a nod to the indigenous cultures of the Philippines. The design also incorporates a dedication to Jonas Susteno, a tattoo artist and musician from Tacloban, who perished in the typhoon along with several of his family members. Designed by Elle Festin, Tatak Na Apat Na Alon Tribe/Mark of the 4 Waves." -Spiritual Journey Tattoo It is the time of the year when one of our warriors is away from home. Braddah Eukarezt is now currently off-island to teach art at an Institute in Perth, Australia. May you continue to inspire your students the same way you have inspired your clients and your family here at Soul Signature. Enjoy your trip but hurry home because we all miss you :)
